I loved the movie ‘Space Cowboys’ in which JG played a preacher but, then joined a group of famous movie stars i.e Clint Eastwood, Tommy Lee Jones and Donald Sutherland…this foursome were astronauts now in their late years who were summoned by NASA to go into space to reactivate a Russian satellite. I found this movie to be worthy a hit.
Space Cowboys was the turning point in what I call “gray cinema”. It provided characters for senior citizens that carry a story, rather than just sit on the porch in a rocking chair. Watching the group prove to the youngsters that there is some value in experience was quite refreshing at the time.
